AWS A5.28 ER80S-G
Description:ER80S-G is a gas protected copper plating wire for low alloy steel, which is protected by argon rich gas body. Due to the addition of titanium in the wire, the grain of the deposited metal is refined and excellent comprehensive mechanical properties can be obtained. This wire is more suitable for high current welding.
Application: Widely used in boilers, pressure vessels, Bridges, lifting and transportation equipment, construction machinery, ships, pipelines, containers and other low-alloy high-strength steel (such as: X65, 16Mn, 18Nb) welding.

Note
1, in order to ensure welding performance, the surface of the workpiece should be cleaned up before welding rust, oil, water and so on;
2, welding, the extension length of the wire should pay special attention to, although too long can improve the welding deposit rate, but will worsen the welding process and weld performance, such as spatter increase, rough molding. Suggestion: When the current is less than 250A, the extension length of the welding wire is about (10~18) mm; when the current is greater than 250A, the extension length of the welding wire is about (20~25) mm;
3, welding, when the wind speed is more than 1.8m/s or high welding, should use windproof measures, can not use fans and other direct blowing welding;
4, the protection gas flow is best controlled between (15~20) L/min;
5, after opening the package, the welding wire directly exposed to the air should avoid contact with water, paint, oil, etc., should be used as soon as possible, so as not to affect the use of the welding wire;
6, the diameter of the welding wire should be consistent with the specifications of the conductive nozzle, too much will cause poor conduction and affect the formation of the weld. And it will make the splash bigger;
7, too large or too small welding line energy will seriously affect the overall performance of the weld, should cause more attention;
8, the above recommendations are for reference only, the user should be evaluated according to the specific situation before use, in order to be more realistic.
Welding wire handling and storage:
1. When handling the welding wire into a disk, it should be handled gently to prevent falling;
2. Welding wire is afraid of water, not near fire, and not resistant to high temperature;
3, the welding wire should be stored in a closed, dry and clean room, the room temperature should not be less than 5℃, the relative humidity is not more than 60%;
4, the warehouse storage, welding wire should be placed on the wooden tray or iron rack, the distance from the wall should be greater than 30cm, and according to the specifications, models, etc., placed respectively, to prevent mixing, the use should be in accordance with the "first in first out" principle.
